The VIII Interregional scientific conference "Person of the Second Plan in the History", (Rostov-on-Don, May 6 - 7, 2010)

VIII Interregional scientific conference "Person of the Second Plan in the History"

(Rostov-on-Don, May 6 - 7, 2010)

The Rostov regional office of the Russian Society of Intellectual History (RSIH) and department of history of Southern Federal University continue the research project "Person of the Second Plan in the History" begun in 2002. The concept "the person of the second plan in the history", offered by the famous expert in national history N.A. Mininkov, for these years was considerably enriched. The Rostov researchers V.Yu. Ap-ryshchenko, A.E. Ivanesko, A.V. Korenevsky, V.S. Savchuk, N.A. Trapsh, A.A. Harchenko, etc. contributed significantly to his further development. The research project got the interested response from many scientists from other cities of Russia.

Their participation in annual scientific conferences on this problem testifies to it and also - in scientific collections of the Rostov regional office of ROII. So far there were in Rostov-on-Don five collections "Person of the Second Plan in the History", and in the St. Petersburg publishing house "Aleteya" a similar series of books is open, and in May, 2010 the first volume of this series "Was published shadows of great: images and destinies".

The conference was opened by the deputy dean on scientific work of department of history of SFU V.Yu. Apryshchenko who noted that certainty that the research project "Person of the Second Plan in the History" not only continues to develop but also attracts everything new participants. By the taken roots tradition the chairman of the Rostov regional office of ROII V.S. Savchuk told participants and guests of a conference about the main activities of regional office and showed to the audience the scientific publications prepared by members of office. He invited colleagues to take part in preparation of the second volume of the St. Petersburg series which will probably be called "Glory and oblivion: biographics paradoxes". Then within two days 24 scientific reports were heard.

V.V. Bobyliov's performances (Sochi institute of RUDN) "To a question of typology & #34 were devoted to the analysis of the theoretical, including source study and historiographic aspects of "modern biographic history" connected with studying characters of "the second plan"; акторов" political lane-sonosfery: outsider or individualist?" and Yu.P. Zaretsky (GU - Higher School of Economics, Moscow) "Certificates on & #34; маленьких" people: new researches of the French historians". As well as at the previous conferences, in several reports an object of research were courses of life and the creative fate of people of Renaissance. They were considered as in the personal plan - for example, in N.I. Devyataykina's report (Saratov State University) "Philip Kabassol is a cardinal, the intellectual, Petrarch's friend", and in terms of existence and functioning of certain sociocultural strata of "the second plan" (in the project of the Rostov regional office even such peculiar term - "collective hero of the second plan" was approved) - in I.A. Krasnova's reports (Stavropol state university) "& #34; Младшие" positions in Florence the XIV-XV centuries: advantages and negative sides in estimates of citizens" and A.I. Cherkashenina (Stavropol state university) "Women in a cultural context: ideal models and real contribution".

Several reports were devoted to characters of the British history of the Middle Ages and early Modern times. In G.Yu. Magakov's (SFU) report "Blossoming of a cult of St. Cuthbert in medieval Scotland" an attempt of identification of the reasons of growth of popularity and the religious authority of English was made

the sacred "second plan" of Cuthbert which center of honoring was a monastery founded on an end of the 11th century in Coldingham. Figures of the transitional era marked in England by both the religious, and socio-political conflicts were the focus of attention of V.N. Yerokhin (Nizhnevartovsk humanities university) - "Edmund Grindel - the figure of the age of Reformation in England" and N.V. Laskova (SFU) - "Robert Gordon from Lokhinvar - & #34; succeeded in development of force of a body and greatness ума"".

Many conferees submitted reports on national history of the XVII-XVIII centuries which "heroes" were both widely famous people, and historical characters whose names are well familiar only to experts. The perspective of the all-Russian character was mentioned in D.P. Isaev's (SFU) performances "F.N. Romanov to & #34; священства": a look of the descendant and representation of the contemporary", M.B. Dolgopolsky (SFU) "Ivan Eykhler in & #34; Russian партии": the unusual fate of the German in Russia of a bironovshchina era" and V.Ya. Maulya (Nizhnevartovsk branch of the Tyumen oil and gas university) "Timofey Myasnikov is a commander of pugachevsky guard". Several reports relating to the same era it was constructed on regional material. So, S.V. Chernitsyn (SFU) in the performance "Okhreyan - group of the second plan in early ethnic history of the Don Cossacks" analyzed formation sources in the 17th century of special ethnoconfessional group (it is about the natives of an Orthodox environment who accepted Islam), provided curious biographic data on some of her representatives. The most interesting material about characters of the Don history contained in P.A. Avakov's reports (Aksay military and historical museum) "the Major general A.I. Tarakanov: & #34; Маленький" the person during era of big changes" and N.A. Mininkova (SFU) "Burns a candle, the feather creaks... In new year over the old manuscript: Cossack Panfil Kupriyanov behind correspondence of the composition of the famous fellow countryman".

Some reports on national history of the 19th century combined the analysis of biographic material with consideration of separate aspects of functioning of historical memory. It belongs to V.A. Abramenko's (SFU) performances "Updating of images of historic figures of Veliky Novgorod in consciousness of the Russian elite of XVIII - the first half of the 19th century" and E.E. Kamozina (SFU) "About advantages and shortcomings & #34; the second плана": H.I. Popov and creation of the Don museum". A number of reports was devoted to reconstruction of biographies of church figures and few famous figures of the Russian culture. So, E.V. Shvetsova (Don real gymnasium) talked about a topic "The metropolitan Platon Gorodetsky - & #34; the most famous of Russians архиереев"", and T.P. Hlynina (YuNC RAS, Rostov-on-Don) submitted the report "The cancelled novel: an episode from life of the capital architect". Important theoretical questions of biographic history were raised in E.V. Shandulin's (SFU) report "V.I. Vernadsky and P.A. Kropotkin: scientists or politicians? Debatable aspects of a problem & #34; the person of the second plan in истории"".

History of the 20th century was considered in reports of conferees as through a prism of vital trajectories of characters Russian and, in particular, the Don history, and by the analysis of surprising fate of the people who occupied the essential, though not key place in the history of Western Europe. E.F. Krinko's (YuNC RAS, Rostov-on-Don) reports "The general & #34 belong to the first group of performances; guards Cossack войск" N.Ya. Kirichenko", O.M. Morozova (Don technical university) "Nikolay Gikalo and it & #34; east политика"" and A.V. Brazhkina (Prague, Czech Republic) "Informal culture of Rostov. 1948 - 1994: attempt of updating & #34; the second плана"". The second group of reports was submitted by performances

A.V. Korenevsky (SFU) "The Nitford family in big-time politics of the XX century" and V.S. Savchuka (SFU) "The German historian during an era of national socialism and after its crash: Herman Geympel's way".

The majority of the reports submitted at a conference caused a brisk discussion during which were mentioned as the specific questions connected with activity of those characters whose courses of life were analyzed in reports, and the common theoretical problems. Similar exchange of views, undoubtedly, will promote further, more profound understanding the concept "the person of the second plan in the history". The next conference on this perspective will take place at the beginning of May, 2011
