Issue of one more biography of the general L.G. Kornilov shows the steady interest of a part of our society in events of almost century prescription. The figure of the general Kornilov attracts interest not only academic to this day, but also "subjunctive". Because, hearing a name of this general, many it is free or involuntarily ask a question: what expected Russia if his performance in August, 1917 was crowned with success? Or if in Civil war the White movement at which origins he stood gained a victory? Not accidentally that Russian emigrant press which with undisguised sympathy watched military progress Spanish "white" during the Civil war in Spain of 1936 - 1939 called the Spanish general F. Franko "the Spanish Kornilov". Supporters of the "subjunctive" point of view on the general Kornilov and him put, now, in confirmation of the correctness, can refer to examples of Hungary of times of regency of the admiral M. Horthy and Spain of the period of dictatorship of the generalissimo F. Franko.

And. Ushakov and V. Fedyuk tried to state most objectively the biography of the hero, having shown him in different fields and at different stages of a course of life, since children's years. Certainly, Kornilov could take place as the scientist-orientalist. Or as military diplomat. It took place and became famous as the military leader, let and not deprived of shortcomings about which authors write.

Fatal for Russia 1917 made a political figure of the All-Russian scale of the fighting general. And it is quite justified that from five chapters

four are devoted to the last year of life of Kornilov: from March, 1917 to April, 1918. Avoiding "soslagatelnost", authors put down to credit to the hero his civic courage. Because in 1917, during a time of the increasing anarchy, lack of will, chaos and anarchy, he could tell with all soldier's frankness "no" to those whom considered responsible for destruction of army and Russia. And the fact that the general Kornilov and his adherents both in August, and in November, 1917 appeared in minority more precisely - alone, at all does not speak about inaccuracy of their choice.

Without being exchanged for reproaches in the small inaccuracies allowed by authors (as that: confusion with a rank of the artillery officer E.N. Giatsintov, the general's initials column F. A. Keller and the Baltic sailor P.E. Dybenko, with old and new styles) we will note that followed them would like to tell briefly readers that the fight begun by the general Kornilov in 1917 did not end with his death at all, and proceeded in the south of Russia till November, 1920, and in the east - till November, 1922 that in the foreign land for many years there was a Kornilovsky shock regiment that dozens if not hundreds, it vetera-is new-kornilovtsev took part in the Russian liberation movement of 1941 - 1945 that the last kornilovets - K.A. Aseev and V.M. Feliksov - lived prior to the beginning of the 1990th and became witnesses of the crash of communist regime in Russia against which the general Kornilov fought.

And in "Epilogue" the authors should tell the name of one more incidental character of "kornilovsky history" though they quote the act of mockery of Bolsheviks signed with it over remains of the general Kornilov twice. This scary document is signed by the valid councilor of state G.A. Meyngardt (1866 - 1945). It, being a professional lawyer and the famous public figure, at the request of the general A.I. Denikin, Kornilov's successor, headed Special investigative the commission on investigation of crimes of Bolsheviks. The materials collected by the Special commission were taken out at retreat of white troops to Novorossiysk, shipped on the steamship and delivered to Constantinople. From there in the early twenties brought them to Paris where they were stored in the lock in Vensenna. After World War II they appeared over the ocean, at Stanford University in Archive of Guverovsky institute of war, revolution and world, having become a source of valuable and truthful data on Civil war, about the Bolshevist mode.

But the main thing nevertheless not in book shortcomings, and in other: the biography of the first white leader appeared in the Young Guard publishing house which was prior to the beginning of the 1990th All-Union Leninist Young Communist League Central Committee publishing house in the Life of Wonderful People series founded in 1933 by "the great proletarian writer" M. Gorky for glorification first of all of revolutionaries. It is a sign of the times, confirmation of historical correctness of the wonderful Russian person general L.G. Kornilov.
