Plastic maxillofacial surgery in Kazan in days of civil and the Great Patriotic War of wars

sravnivy lists in orders of the director of institute and in the inventory of personal records, we found out that any of them is not full. Surnames of the students specified in the inventory of personal records, but who are absent in orders of the director of institute and also a surname of students which are in orders of the director were revealed, but is not present in the inventory of personal records.

Besides, the inventory of personal records did not include surnames of the students marked in orders of the director of institute respectively their personal records are absent also. We managed to find out the fate of some of them according to archival documents and documents of the organizing committee of graduates of 1941

So that to specify number of graduates of 1941, we took the list of the inventory of personal records as a basis and included in it surnames of students which were specified in orders of the director of institute, but were absent in the inventory. Proceeding from these data, we can claim that in 1941 KGMI ended not 932, but 946 students.

PLASTIC MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY IN KAZAN in days of CIVIL AND the GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR of WARS

Tafkil Takiyevich Faizov, Lilia Aleksandrovna Minikayeva, Adel Tafquilevn Faizov

Department of maxillofacial surgery (manager. — prof. T.T. Faizov) Kazan state

medical university

The Council of People's Commissars at a meeting decided to found on November 16, 1918 at medical faculty of the Kazan state university a course of surgery of jaws and an oral cavity with clinic of an operational zubovrachevaniye which was managed by doctor L.B. Blinstein. Since April 21, 1920 this course was officially transformed to department of odontology which head was first Kazan professor-stomatologist Pyotr Arkadyevich Glushkov heading it till 1930. In 1904, having with honors graduated from medical faculty of the Kazan imperial university, he served as the professorial scholar at department of normal anatomy, in 1909 held a position of the intern of surgical office of the Kazan military hospital, having begun to be engaged under the leadership of professor A.V. Vishnevsky and the privatdozent I.A. Praksin in scientific research which had to be interrupted in connection with the begun World War I. Being on the Southwest front, the young doctor was sent by command of the front for three months to maxillofacial from -

division of the Kiev military hospital where received the first skills on maxillofacial surgery. Having returned to Kazan after the end of war, having sufficient medical experience by then, P.A. Glushkov continued scientific researches. In 1918 after public defense of a thesis by council of medical faculty it was approved in degree of the doctor of medicine. Being a talented surgeon, he developed ways of plastic surgeries on the lower jaw at its deformations and anomalies of a bite, carrying out them with considerable success. Its feather possesses more than 20 printing works devoted including to plastic surgeries on a facial skull, is the "Method of a plastic resection of the lower jaw", "About bone plasticity of the lower jaw", etc., been a valuable contribution to maxillofacial plastic surgery. With work professor P.A. Glushkov was helped by his pupils — doctors I.M. Utrobin, E.A. Dom-racheva and K.A. Korchagina who became subsequently prominent maxillofacial surgeons in Kazan.

There are a lot of forces and talent gave to correction

defects and deformations of the person professor Vasily Afanasyevich Gusynin is the head of the department of surgery Kazan GIDUVA, the graduate of the Warsaw university. After long-term intensive surgical activity and scientific search in 1926 his book "Face lifting" in which the anatomy and physiology of prirotovy area are covered was published and the review of the existing operational ways of plasticity of lips, cheeks and other areas of the person is given by a round skin stalk. In 1934 after its election to a position of the head of the department of surgery Kazan GIDUVA and intensive activity in 1937 its monograph in which biological features and clinical value of a round skin stalk are described was published. Especially fruitful its scientific and practical activities appeared in days of the Great Patriotic War. During this period Kazan was rear base of the front and one of the centers of field surgery. In the building of modern agricultural university (K. Marx St., 65) from the first days of war neurosurgical hospital No. 1667 on 1000 wounded where the prof. V.A. Gu-synin was the chief consultant was developed and carried out the most difficult operations. During this period the way of closing of wounds of a face and the arch of the head with use of the fragments of an autokozha taken in operation time, method of free change was offered them.

In 1944 in Kazan in the former school (Volkov St., 3) after a re-deployment of hospital No. 1667 in a front-line zone the neurosurgical hospital No. 4497 on 400 wounded which became subsequently (after the end of war) was organized by the Kazan institute of orthopedics and recovery surgery (present NICT "WTO"). At this institute the office of neurosurgery was open for treatment of victims with damages central and peripheral nervous systems — the first of five neurosurgical offices of modern Kazan in which the prof. V.A. Gusynin prepared professional group of neurosurgeons.

Those hard years in Kazan one more prominent maxillofacial surgeon who was engaged in reconstructive face lifting Ivan Mikhaylovich Utrobin worked. After the termination of medical faculty of the Kazan university it was left at odontologichesky clinic where was a regular intern, the assistant to the surgeon. From 1927 to 1928 he worked the regular teacher of odontology at the Kazan medical polytechnic part-time. In December, 1930 after departure of professor P.A. Glushkov to Leningrad I.M. Utrobin appointed vre-760

Menno acting as manager of clinic and department of stomatology of KGMI. In 1932 he was chosen and confirmed to this post already on a competition and also to the associate professor's rank. In 1934 with direct participation of I.M. Utrobin in the Kazan GIDUVe the department of stomatology which laid the foundation for realization of a system of retraining of general practitioners and dentists in stomatologists and their subsequent professional improvement was organized. Due to the acute shortage of dentists in the country in 1936 the Council of People's Commissars adopted the special resolution on the organization of dental institutes in 11 cities of the country, including in Kazan. On the basis of surgical office of department of stomatology in 1938 the independent department of surgical stomatology which was headed by the associate professor I.M. Ut-robin was organized. At that time the department had 30 stationary beds and 7 dental chairs at surgical office.

By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War Ivan Mikhaylovich was created as the experienced surgeon owning different types of bone and skin plasticity of defects chelyust - but - front area. The considerable number of its publications is devoted to consequences of a fire injury of face and jaws [1]. In them issues of expeditious elimination of post-fire defects of average and lower departments of the face, lower lip, salivary fistulas are discussed. Its monograph "The Gunshot Combined Wounds of the Face, Nose, Additional Bosoms and the Chewing Device" published together with professor-otolaryngologist N.N. Lozanov serves as a valuable contribution to development of domestic maxillofacial surgery also now. Original modification of use of a filatovsky stalk at total defects of a nose is offered them, and it also dealt with issues heylo- and uranoplastik at congenital crevices.

After disbandment in 1950. The Kazan dental institute I.M. Utrobin worked at department of stomatology Kazan GIDUVA and at the Kazan research institute of traumatology and orthopedics. On clinical base of department of surgical stomatology which he created and headed many years, in 1951 the Republican dental hospital of MZ RT reorganized in 1955 into Republican dental policlinic with a hospital was open. From 1946 to 1955 I.M. Utrobin was the chief stomatologist of MZ TASSR, the chairman of the board of republican society of stomatologists. In these

years together with it worked young talented scientists and doctors who continued development of dental science generally and plastic maxillofacial surgery in particular in Kazan, having become the famous maxillofacial surgeons subsequently.

CONGRESSES AND CONFERENCES

The VI ALL-RUSSIAN WORKSHOP ON IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL DIAGNOSIS of TUMOURS of the PERSON

In the Republican clinical oncological clinic (COC) of Kazan on October 6 — 8, 2008 there took place the VI All-Russian workshop on immunohistochemical diagnosis of tumors of the person.

Scientific RONC of N.N. Blochin as the Russian Academy of Medical Science N.T. Raich lean, A.M. Kovrigina, N.A. Savelov (Moscow), MONICA him acted as lecturers. Vladimir — L.E. Gure-vich (Moscow), scientific research institute of surgery of A.V. Vishnevsky of AMN — And. I. Shchegolev (Moscow), scientific research institute of oncology of the prof. N.N. Petrov — D.E. Matsko (St. Petersburg), the Kazan state medical university — S.V. Petrov.

At the opening ceremony of school of participants of a seminar the chief physician the prof. R.Sh. Chasanoff, the honored worker of science of Russia prof. N.T. Raykhlin welcomed the CODE, etc. the Prof. S.V. Petrov made the message "Experience of 12 years' immunohistochemical diagnosis of tumors in the Clinical oncological clinic of MZ RT". the 1st day of a workshop was devoted only to lectures.

In a lecture & #34; Immunohistochemical and histochemical markers of speed of proliferation tumoral клеток" (prof. N.T. Raykhlin) on the example of "small" malignant tumors of a lung modern approaches to the analysis of growth rate of new growths at the person were discussed. It is known that the argirofil-ny proteins associated with areas yadryshkovy organizers (Ag-OYaOR-belki) are not only specific markers of transkriptsionno-active ribosomal genes, but also one of the factors of regulation of a cellular cycle having significant effect on the speed of cellular proliferation. Among the identified Ag-OYaOR-belkov in regulation mechanisms kle-

an exact cycle proteins of C23/nukleolin and B23/nukleofozmin — the main argirofilny proteins of interfazny cages are involved mainly.

Researches of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov in actively proliferating cages showed that the registered changes of level of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov in phases of a cellular cycle characterize kinetics of cellular growth and reflect a share of cages in each phase of a cellular cycle, duration of each phase and the general duration of a cellular cycle and respectively speed of cellular proliferation. At the same time the higher the level of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov in cages, the is shorter time of doubling of cellular populations and respectively less than duration of a cellular cycle and higher than the speed of proliferation whereas the low level of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov reflects slow passing of a cellular cycle.

Studying an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov in cells of different tumors revealed distinct correlation between the level of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov, degree of malignancy of tumors and duration of survival of patients: the level of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov is higher, the uskorenny the growth rate of tumors and is worse the forecast. The diagnostic and predictive value of Ag-OYaOR-belkov is widely discussed in literature.

Need of a combination of the analysis of an expression of Ag-OYaOR-belkov to the researches establishing fraction of proliferating cages for obtaining fuller and reliable information about the proliferative status of tumor cells at the time of diagnosis, determination of nature of a clinical current and the choice of the relevant therapeutic protocols is emphasized.
