The DOG BARKS... (history of one provocation)

Almost at once after the beginning of activity Public organization "Russia" and personally I began to take the battering and slander from certain forces. Their purpose is to discredit our organization and my scientific activity before the public, to create negative image to the Carpatho-Russian movement of Moldova.

Especially this campaign became more active after the beginning of issue of the international historical magazine "Rusin" and carrying out the international academic and research conference "Prince Daniil G of Alitskiya and Fate of the Western Russia" which took place in Chisinau on May 25-26, 2005

Further the main are shortly stated, in my opinion, events.

>- In October, 2004. The Embassy of Ukraine sent the monograph by S.G. Sulyak devoted to Russinians of Moldova for "examination" to Kiev. Having received in June, 2005 an anonymous comment with difficult readable name: "Conclusions about the book by S.G. Sulyak "Splinters of Sacred Russia". Essays of ethnic history of rusnak of Moldova. Nauch. edition P.M. Shornikov" (Chisinau: Tatyana publishing house, (2004).-240 pages) (Excerpts from the expert assessment which is carried out by the Institute of political and et-nonatsionalny researches of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine headed by the academician of NAN of Ukraine I.F. Kuras), the embassy began to extend informally it among public members of Chisinau, trying to discredit thereby researches on Carpatho-Russian subject in Moldova. The anonymity of this pseudoscientific work, how many its political involvement and scientific insolvency is surprising not so much. I.F. Kuras was the author of the notorious "Plan of measures on a solution of the problem of Ukrainian Russinians" adopted in 1996. Cabinet of Ukraine. The plan provided a complex of anticonstitutional measures for ethnoelimination of Russinians of Transcarpathia.

>- On July 14, 2005 at a press conference in the Infotag agency in Chisinau the certain representatives of non-governmental organizations of Ukraine who are allegedly a part of "the working group on settlement and conflict prevention in the CIS" "Ukrainians of Moldova" announced the beginning of work of a civil mission. According to the chairman of Association of support of citizens' initiatives "Ark" Igor Kamin-nik from Odessa, it is planned to create information center on protection of the ethnic rights of Ukrainians. "Missionaries" undertook "to protect the rights" national and cultural associations, "to develop additions to the legislation existing in Moldova".

The fact that from the Moldavian side "fighters against the totalitarian Chisinau regime" were a part of a mission, demonstrates that "missionaries" initially provoking of conflict situations, but not an objective social research worried more.

>- On July 27, 2005 in Kiev in UNIAN news agency one more press conference devoted to realization of a mission "Ukrainians in Moldova" took place. The mission is allegedly held "by the Moldavian and Ukrainian organizations - members of the working group on settlement and prevention of the conflicts at Management of the High Commissioner of the Organization of the United Nations for refugees (UNHCR). Its purpose, according to Ukrainian "human rights activists", in integration of "Ukrainians of the North of Moldova" into cultural, public and political life of Ukraine.

At a press conference it was announced allegedly existing Russinians project, "actively realized in Moldova with assistance of authorities and with active participation of teachers and students of the The Higher Anthropological School (HAS). At the same time the actual head of HAS is the adviser to the president of RM Vladimir Voronin Mark Tkachuk. The main meaning of the Russinians of Moldova project consists in imposing to the Ukrainian population of a thought of ethnic origin to "Russinians, rusnaka" as to "the second indigenous people of Moldova" for the purpose of their spiritual separation from Ukraine and also instilling of psychology of "ethnic minority" in them. An ideologist of this program is a certain Sergey Sulyak, the author of the book "Splinters of Sacred Russia". The Embassy of Ukraine in RM is concerned about development of the Russinians project as Sulyak periodically leaves to the Ukrainian villages with free lectures. As a result on the last local elections the representatives of the Ukrainian communities lost in Ryshkansky district to "rusinstvuyushchy communists"".

Also theses about pressure which is allegedly experienced by the Ukrainians living in Moldova and about the conducted denationalization of Ukrainians were heard.

>- On August 3, 2005 one of participants of the Kiev show - Alexander Levitsky, being drunk, it was detained for insult of staff of security guard and patrol service and it is delivered in a commissariat of police of page. Botany of Chisinau. It gave a reason to organizers of above-mentioned actions to accuse of it "authors" of the Russinians of Moldova project invented by them.

In the Ministry of Justice of RM also the information and analysis center (the director - Ivan Burgudzhi) opening how it was announced in the press, the branches in Chisinau, Comrat, Tiraspol, Balti and Tarakliya is registered certain Independent human rights. This center also declared the participation in the Ukrainians in Moldova project. In the beginning it was declared that A. Levitsky is his employee.

>- On October 19, 2005 in Kiev another press conference of participants of a mission "Ukrainians in Moldova" took place. Part in a conference is taken by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the member of the committee Verkhov -

ache Rada on human rights and ethnic minorities A. Kis. At a conference "results of a social research" are presented and it is stated: "In the nearest future the Ukrainian diaspora in Moldova intends to put before the leaders of this republic "a number of sensitive issues - from an educational format before creation of own autonomy" - and is ready to accept the help from the government and non-governmental institutions of Ukraine".

At this A. Levitsky conference is already the representative of Adzhuta Chives human rights organization ("Civil assistance"). There was also A. Lukyan, its chairman. The Russian citizens A. Kochetkov and V. Lebedkin were connected with this organization. At the beginning of July, 2005 "Adzhuta Chivis" was engaged in observation of elections of a primar of Chisinau, and then A. Kochetkov and V. Lebedkin were detained by law enforcement agencies of Moldova. It caused complications of the relations between Moldova and Russia. The scheme of untwisting of scandal with detention of A. Levitsky having dual citizenship - Moldavian and Russian, very much resembled previous.

Information on A. Levitsky's detention was spread around by the Film PMR and the Novy Dnestrovsky Kuryer newspaper at the suggestion of S. Ilchenko nobody. The journalistic fate of the last is very interesting. Expelled at the time from The Higher Anthropological School, the Chisinau newspapers Independent Moldova and Communist for professional unsuitability and scandalous reputation, Ilchenko quickly replaced orientation, moved to Tiraspol and became the fighter against "the Chisinau totalitarian regime of Voronin". Its style reminds nonsense of mentally unhealthy person - a demon - the connected statement of the facts invented by his imagination, and often Ilchenko contradicts himself. Special hatred in it is caused by those persons from whom it "suffered" at the time: it constantly slings mud at them. Among them first place is won by M. Tkachuk, the former rector of The Higher Anthropological School, nowadays the adviser to the president of the Republic of Moldova. Probably, there is no journalist on both coast of Dniester which would do to Transnistria so much harm as Ilchenko: the ugly tricks it not only discredited the Tiraspol press, undermining confidence to it of the population, but also caused essential material damage to "patrons". So, because of numerous legal claims of residents of Tiraspol which it okhayal in the articles (it put one of insults to the local judge), the Dnestrovsky Kuryer newspaper was closed. Ilchenko began to edit the new edition "Novy Dnestrovsky Kuryer". One more "know-how" of Ilchenko: he often placed the articles made out of thin air in the Russian information Internet agencies, then published them in the newspaper, giving out for material of the agency, modestly lowering the authorship.

In the material "Parade of Falsifiers" ("The new Dniester courier" of August 17, 2005) Ilchenko tried to discredit Public organization "Russia" and me, its president. He called our organization created by official Chisinau for destabilization of a situation in Transnistria and incitement there of anti-Russian sentiment (?!).

At the end of 2005 S. Ilchenko was out of work. He was released from a post of the editor of "The new Dniester courier" and "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Transnistria". After that its "civic stand" underwent the next transformation. Now he already criticizes the Tiraspol administration.

>- At the end of October - the beginning of November, 2005 articles signed by a certain A. Viskalov were published in the limited "oppositional" Chisinau newspaper Kommersant Plus (most likely, a pseudonym):

"What nationality Russinians?" (No. 37 of October 21, 2005);

"How much is patriotism? Part second." (No. 38 of October 28, 2005);

"How much is patriotism? Part second." (No. 39 of November 4, 2005)

They contained not only information untrue, but direct insults in my address. In the last article the excerpts from correspondence concerning the organization of the international academic and research conference "Prince Daniil Galitsky and Fate of the Western Russia" taken from the website of the deputy of the Russian State Duma A.N. Savelyev are placed. However the author of material very selectively quoted letters, having consciously distorted their sense, and the most important - "forgot" to give the reference to the website. At the end of one of materials the appeal to the Chisinau authorities to be quit with the Carpatho-Russian movement of Moldova contains. Is surprising that all this nasty thing is printed in the edition which considers itself "the only frankly pro-Russian newspaper in the country which does not hide the attitude towards Russia", "constantly and Russia which is disinterestedly supporting interests in Moldova and Transnistria" ^!). In more detail with the author's pearl (or authors?) this composition it is possible to get acquainted on the website of the newspaper (

The editor-in-chief of this so-called "oppositional" newspaper is Robert Zapadinsky. The personality is very strange. It is possible to tell about its nuances of "a labor way" long. I will tell only that long before becoming the editor-in-chief of Kommersanta Plus and inveterate "Russophile", in 1996 he participated in an election campaign, working for the candidate for president P. Luchinsky. Zapadinsky became the initiator of creation of the dirty leaf working under the famous Russian newspaper "Sovershenno Sekretno". The editor put G. Bokala nobody. Slanderous materials on the leaders of the republic of that time were published in Top secret of the Moldavian pouring along with reprints from the erotic Playboy and "Penthouse". Having learned that "businessmen" from policy impudently stole the brand of the famous newspaper and even registered it in Moldova, the management of the Moscow holding "Top secret" was horrified and took a number of measures for liquidation of this edition, without having learned that behind all this there is a modest figure of the grandson of "the Latvian shooter".

>- On October 31 on the website "Our Moldova" (Moldova Noastra: http:// in Romanian, and on November 5, 2005 in Russian appeared article "POVERTY of HISTORY, or reflection concerning one nasty theory" Savin nobody rusinofobstvuyushchy "historian" with "purely Romanian" a surname. "Professor of the university" surprised not only the weak scientific preparation (what is only costed by one srav-

a neniye of such science as anthropology, with Nazism or ignorance of works of the Moldavian ethnographers), but also spiteful hatred to all Slavic peoples. The website is designed to create positive image of Moldova abroad and gives materials in three languages. This material is not translated into English. Possibly, curators of the website from a certain government institution did not give the green light on it, remembering that the international community is negative to manifestation of cave nationalism. The right for maintaining the ethnicity is supported by all countries, with rare exception. Violations of the rights of ethnic minorities are constantly fixed and can serve as a serious obstacle at the accession to the European Union. For example, within seven years, since 1999, U.S. State Department in the annual report "Ukraine. Messages about the country concerning respect for human rights" notes violations of the rights of Russinians in Ukraine (Ukraine. Cm Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: http://www. htm, http://www. 2000/eur/854.htm,, http://www., http://www. hrrpt/2003/27871.htm,,

The website "Our Moldova" began to show interest in Russinians from the middle of October, 2005. A certain journalist interviewed E. Banara whom probably painful interest in Russinians does not allow to live quietly with heads of two Ukrainian communities of the republic - V. Kozhukhar (on October 13, 2005) and N. Oleyniky (on October 21, 2005).

Of course, flattered me that semiliterate madam called me the author of a sensation. Especially N. Oleynik's statement was pleasant:

"Correspondent: - Not so long ago there was a book about the Russinians living in Moldova. Allegedly the Ukrainians living in the republic it is the same Russinians. What you tell on it?

N.O.: - Such questions are actively exaggerated recently, the book & #34 is written; Splinters of old Rusi" with attempts to prove that today's Ukrainians are Russinians, or rusnak. I ask to excuse me for sharpness of a statement, but this no more than low-professional reading matter. By our inquiry scientists from the Kiev academy of Sciences, serious researchers, wrote the review of this so-called book where data are provided that everything stated there is written by laymans and does not maintain any criticism".

>, these words were heard from the vice-chairman of the parliamentary Commission on Human Rights.

One more "thoughtful" saying of Oleynik came back to memory. On a question of the correspondent of one of newspapers: "Here all of you tell time & #34; we, we..." and how many people consist in your organization how many divisions it contains?", Oleynik, without philosophizing crafty, told: "To answer how many people in Moldova identify themselves as Ukrainians, it will be possible only after carrying out next year for a population census".

Possibly, Mr. Oleynik could convince not only himself that only he one represents the interests of all Ukrainians of Moldova. Then went "in

to politician". For these years he visited the deputy prime minister, the deputy from the Agrarian Democratic Party of Moldova. Now he is the deputy of Parliament from the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova. So far nobody asks a question whether there is from Oleynik some advantage? In the village Nago-ryany (Nikhoren) of Ryshkansky district N. Oleynik the frequent guest. Here it, contrary to will of most of inhabitants, on the place of the Russian school initiated creation of the Romanian-Ukrainian lyceum. Here, despite ardent propaganda of N. Oleynik, only 770 voters (it is improbable that though in it there is his merit) from 2047 gave the votes for Communist Party during the parliamentary elections of 2005. Situation and in other villages of the North of Moldova which are constantly visited by this "fighter for the rights of Ukrainians" is not better. As a rule, meetings with electorate take place on the fulfilled scenario. Before potential voters Oleynik, and in Ukrainian makes the ardent speech. Villagers ask it to pass to Russian clear to them. The speaker long breaks, pretends that he does not hear. Then begins to speak Russian, having left at attendees an unpleasant deposit from communication with it.

What is interesting: still any of representatives of numerous Ukrainian communities of Moldova did not pass an opinion on provocative statements of participants of a mission "Ukrainians of Moldova", in particular, about violations of the rights of Ukrainians by "the communistic authorities" Moldova and the requirement of creation of autonomy. The words of condemnation were not heard and from the deputy Oleynik.

When comparing the anti-Carpatho-Russian materials which appeared approximately at the same time it is necessary to notice some similarity:

>- Laymans which have no relation to Russinians act as their authors and are poorly familiar with the history of our region.

>- Publications, as a rule, begin with "thoughtful" reasonings on a certain "Carpatho-Russian problem". Then creators of "writing" pass to my personality. Begin to describe long and tiresomely milestones of my working career: what allegedly "bad" newspapers I published, to invent the "powers of darkness" standing behind me, to hang various labels, trying to discredit activity of Public organization "Russia" thereby.

>- Kommersant Plus and A. Savina strongly, probably, touched that representatives of Russinians of Moldova participated in an academic and research conference in Uzhhorod. Therefore they in passing walked also on this action.

>- The relation of the "Russian" patriot A. Vis-kalov and his colleague on "patriotism" - "Romanian" A. Savin to Orthodoxy cannot but be surprising. The "Romanian" patriot is haunted by a thought of the consecrated Stefan Weliki's icon presented to Russinians of Transcarpathia. His "associate" from Kommersanta Plus mentioned that we want to assist in construction of Orthodox church in the village of Bulgak.

>- Authors try to replace lack of any argument with a juggling of the facts and the chosen, incorrect citing.

For example, Kommersant Plus wrote: "As for a statement, it is obvious at the suggestion of Sergey Georgiyevich, the fact that "for the first time in the history of Moldavs-

which Republics (and probably the Moldavian SSR) at the serious scientific level brought up a question of presence of other indigenous people (Russian) here, and about its contribution to formation of the Moldavian principality", these words disprove the first lines of the report of one of conferees. "Perhaps, in the Moldavian Soviet historiography there is no more studied subject as slavyano-voloshsky communications. This subject always was fashionable. In the 70-80th years there was even a special scientific council under the name "Slavyano-voloshsky communications and origin of the Moldavian nationality. The question of formation of Romanians excited minds in 17-18 centuries. Initially at the solution of this question there is a political order". ("Galitsko-voloshsky communications in the 13-14th centuries", Anatoly Gorodenko, doctor of history). It is difficult not to agree with the last statement of the senior teacher of The Higher Anthropological School". ("Kommersant of Plus", No. 39 (599), on November 4, 2005).

In the original the first lines of the report sound differently: "Perhaps, in the Moldavian Soviet historiography there is no more studied subject, than slavyano-voloshsky communications. This subject always was fashionable. In the 70-80th there was even a special scientific council under the name "Slavyano-voloshsky Communications and Origin of the Moldavian Nationality" (N.A. Mokhov, V.S. Zelenchuk, P.V. Councils, page 3-18). Such name is not accidental as these two historical phenomena are inseparably linked among themselves. However initially at the solution of this question there is a political order". (Gorodenko A. Galitsko-voloshskiye communication vXIII-XIVveka (Context of formation of the Moldavian principality)//Russinian No. 2.2005. Page 86).

Are allocated to Neskhozhesti in texts by me specially. By the same principle also other sources "are quoted": there did not tell, here muddled.

>- And the most important that connects the "pro-Russian" journalists, the "Ukrainian" and "Romanian" patriots - denial of the obvious fact that Russinians are indigenous people of Karpato-Dnestrovsky lands. Especially strange this denial sounds from lips of ukrainist (local and "academicians" from Kiev). They claim that "Russinians - it is unambiguous and bezvariantno Ukrainians, typologically and genetically". Same it is necessary "to love" the people so!

Below we publish a number of materials which, in our opinion, will help readers to understand, who stands behind this provocation. Certainly, because of a lack of the place we place not all. Other articles on this subject can be read on the Internet.

Fulfilling "thirty silver coins", all these "writers" try to create a certain political "Carpatho-Russian problem". Executing the order, they try to challenge the right of representatives of Carpatho-Russian ethnos for development of history and sokhrany cultures. With such people there is no meaning of a message a discussion.

The President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin at a press conference well told on January 31, 2006 about the attitude towards similar homebrew critics and ill-wishers: "They deserve only one small remark: & #34; Fie on you" - and all".
