The article contains the brief review of the manual on the military conflict. It is devoted to the tasks, solved by the authors of the manual; notes the interdisciplinary nature of the given material, as well as its practical orientation and relevance from the point of view of Russia&s safety.

the military conflict, conflictology, policy, social contradictions, safety, the armed vultures; military conflict, conflictology, politics, social contradictions, security, armed forces.

The theory of the military conflict which can be treated as the section of both military science, and political science, and sociology is one of the "youngest" sections of domestic conflictology. Therefore researches and manuals in this sphere are represented very relevant.

"The military conflictology" 1, written by group of authors (S.M. Smulsky, V.I. Lutovinov, Yu.N. Motin, V.V. Shchipalov) is one of important results of judgment of military aspect of the theory of the conflicts. Scientists — experts in the field of security concerns, most likely, set to themselves the task not so much to create the detailed system of knowledge of types of the conflicts connected with use of military force how many to reveal the complex nature of military conflictology.

Other task which is pursued by the manual — to establish the place of the military conflict in the system of means of permission of political contradictions, ways of social regulation.

One more problem which is solved by authors of the manual — the aspiration to describe possible parameters of the modern military conflicts, to show trends of their development and also to predict their probable further dynamics.

This logic caused structure of the manual consisting of three big chapters. Chapter 1 is devoted to theoretical bases of the military conflict. In chapter 2 the place of the military conflict in globalization conditions is considered. The chapter 3 reveals contents and features of armed struggle in the military conflicts of the 21st century

Considering a number of issues, relevant for Russia, authors make use of the experience in area of a research of problems of military safety and also an operating time of other researchers in this and adjacent areas. In the manual many examples from practice of emergence and permission of the international contradictions are given. These examples illustrate the processes of emergence and development of the military conflicts used at the same time mechanisms of management by them from the largest powers of the world and also positive and negative results to which participants of the real military conflicts came.

In work much attention is paid to identification of features of such phenomena as "the military conflict", "war" which differ in several parameters. At the same time authors point to blurring of the concept "military conflict" behind which initiators of military operations hide the political goals. These initiators in the last decades are, first of all, the strongest states in the military, political and economic relation which seek to strengthen the positions in the concrete region and in the world in general.

It is remarkable as well the fact that the manual contains not only important theoretical provisions, but also considers a role and the place of Armed forces of Russia in the decision of various conflicts.
